When Ben Medland’s son saw wind turbines at rest, he asked why they weren’t following the wind – a simple observation that gave rise to DRIFT, the next future of green energy generation, storage and distribution. DRIFT’s game-changing, truly scaleable solution to the biggest challenge of our time is a mobile fleet of energy-gathering ships, directed by a groundbreaking routing algorithm, to harvest, store and deliver zero-carbon energy, wherever it’s needed.

The world needs more energy, it needs to be green and we need it soon. Ben Medland’s deceptively simple idea, to use millennia-old technology as a means of harvesting and transporting green energy, offers a future-shaping solution. Leveraging cutting-edge technology, DRIFT Energy’s proposed fleet can access the 70% of the planet currently inaccessible for energy generation. A highly talented engineer, entrepreneur and businessperson, when we met Ben we knew DRIFT had an outsize contribution to make – and we had to climb aboard.
