Santiago Fernandez
Santiago Fernandez is an Investment Manager at Octopus Ventures, where he partners with AI, SaaS and fintech founders through their defining growth years, helping them scale towards category leadership.
He focuses on growth-stage companies across the UK and Europe, typically from Series B to pre-IPO. Santiago supports founders through critical inflection points – from hiring senior leaders and preparing for fundraises, to navigating inorganic growth and building commercial partnerships that unlock scale.
Prior to Octopus, Santiago was an Investment Manager at a fintech growth fund, where he originated and executed investments across SaaS and fintech. Earlier in his career, he was at Goldman Sachs, working on transactions across financial institutions and fintech in EMEA, and began his career in M&A and corporate finance roles at Fortman Cline Capital Markets and PwC.
Santiago holds an MBA from London Business School and a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Economics from the University of Melbourne. He is a Non-Executive Director for Beneficial Life Insurance Company and Manila Cordage Company, and mentors students at London Business School.
Outside of work, Santiago enjoys staying active – whether on the tennis or padel court, skiing, or kite surfing – and is a committed Arsenal supporter.
