Angel Issa
Angel joined Octopus in 2025 and is the Chief Investment Officer for Octopus Ventures Institutional, which includes our investment activities across venture capital and growth in partnership with institutional investors. Angel is also responsible for our fintech and growth strategies.
Prior to Octopus, Angel was co-founder, Managing Partner, and CIO at FGF, a specialist fintech growth fund. Previous to that, he was global head of corporate development and strategic investments at Nomura.
Prior to Nomura, Angel was global head of strategic investments at BNP Paribas, investing and managing a global fund focused on FinTech, Financial Services, and DeepTech. Previously he also served as global head of principal investments at Morgan Stanley where he also invested in fintech and financial services, overseeing three IPO exits during his time. Before this Angel worked as an M&A banker for Lehman Brothers.
Angel started his career as a management consultant and was part of the founding team of the then largest dotcom venture capital fund in Latin America back in 1999. He holds an MBA from London Business School and is an Economist by training.
