Chris Oliver
Chris joined Octopus Ventures in October 2025 to help growth‑stage companies scale with confidence. He partners closely with founders to strengthen their leadership layer, sharpen their operating model and build the people systems that power high‑performing teams.
He’s worked with companies from Seed to post‑acquisition across EMEA, APAC and the Americas, with deep experience in innovation‑led sectors including deep tech, gaming, AI, robotics and defence. His strengths include exec search, people and talent architecture, and designing cultures that enable teams to thrive through rapid change.
Before he joined Octopus Ventures, Chris was Global Head of Talent at Improbable, where he rebuilt the talent function to support its evolution into a multi‑sector venture builder.
Outside work, he’s a sci‑fi‑obsessed reader, museum wanderer and enthusiastic allotment‑tender, usually found outdoors with his two young daughters in search of wildlife.
