Luke Edis
Luke joined Octopus Ventures in 2026 as a Partner to lead Future Generations - Octopus’ generalist seed-fund.
He works closely with founders to help companies scale with focus, pace and ambition. He believes the biggest driver of success is cutting through the noise to identify and prioritise the one or two opportunities that matter most. He also understands that exceptional companies are built by exceptional people, placing a strong emphasis on founder EQ, mental health and building high-performing teams - particularly as emotional intelligence becomes an increasingly valuable differentiator in an AI-powered world.
He joined Octopus following prior experience as a VC, Adviser, and Operator, and most recently was an Investment Director at Beringea - a UK and US Generalist Venture Capital fund with c. £750m under management. He spent 7 years there sourcing, executing and scaling early stage investments into companies including Dash Water, VRAI, Litta, Social Value Portal, Fnatic, Arctic Shores, and Second Nature.
Prior to this he was on the investment team at Passion Capital, one of Europe's most active seed funds, and Head of Business Development at Fundstack, an AI-enabled CRM for financial institutions. He began his career advising small to mid-cap mergers and acquisitions at Silverpeak, a UK boutique investment bank. He holds a First Class Physics degree and graduated from Durham University.
Outside of work, he can usually be found playing tennis, thinking several moves ahead over a chess board, or testing his decision-making at the poker table.
