Why We Invested in Altura – The Hidden Engine of Revenue

If you’ve ever had to write a bid proposal or respond to a request for proposal (RFP), chances are you didn’t enjoy it. You probably battled with tight deadlines, clunky PDFs and documents, and endless emails chasing other people’s input within your organisation.

It’s tedious and chaotic, but it matters a lot. Bid management might often not make the headlines, but it’s how a huge portion of business actually happens.

Governments and large enterprises issue hundreds of thousands of tenders every year, with billions on the table. According to the UK Government, over £300bn per year is spent through competitive procurement, with nearly all of it issued through RFPs or tenders.

For many companies – especially in sectors like consulting, construction, public sector services, IT, and healthcare – bids and tenders represent a fundamental part of their go-to-market (GTM) strategy, as a high-stakes lever for business growth. Yet despite the size and strategic importance of this function, the tools and processes to manage bids are, broadly speaking, still stuck in the past – in siloed systems, with fragmented knowledge spread across documents and manual steps.

That’s why we’ve backed Altura, the AI-powered bid management platform helping teams win more, with less stress. We we’re thrilled to lead their €8 million Series A round alongside a brilliant group of investors, including Fortino Capital, Curiosity VC, and Perry Oostdam.

Bid management is one of those overlooked but critical workflows that’s ready for transformation. Altura has developed a collaborative workspace for the modern era to streamline the entire bidding process and address one of the biggest challenges in bid management: making internal collaboration seamless.

Altura is building an agentic AI platform that enables bid teams to capture and connect knowledge across sources and subject matter experts, qualify opportunities with data-driven guidance, and leverage insights from past successes. From identifying new opportunities to drafting winning proposals, Altura transforms fragmented processes into one connected, collaborative workflow.

We believe customer-obsessed founders are building the next generation of successful enterprise software, reimagining workflows in verticals that have long been overlooked. Altura fits that perfectly, and we are pleased to back founders Matthijs Huiskamp and Jordi van der Hek – both thoughtful, product-centric, and fast-moving.

With this funding, Altura is expanding its presence in the UK with a new London office. It is also further deepening its AI capabilities, helping more bid teams to increase their win rates.

We’re proud to be on the journey with them.
