Priscila Bala

Priscila joined Octopus Ventures in 2017 and leads the New York office. In her role, Priscila supports the growth strategies of Octopus Ventures’ portfolio businesses for successfully entering, and succeeding in, the US market. Priscila works with a variety of businesses within Octopus’ portfolio of pioneering entrepreneurs, helping them meet the challenges of scaling their businesses in the US by building a relevant network of executives, corporates and growth stage investors. She sits in the Future of Health investment team, and on a number of investee health and wellness company boards including Antidote, Katalyst and Medisafe. Priscila holds a BA and MBA from Yale University. She has served on various nonprofit boards and is a fervent advocate of financial literacy, access to education, the arts and the outdoors.

Priscila was a founding partner of a genomic diagnostics venture, and the Director of the Mentor Network at the Yale Entrepreneurial Institute. Earlier, she was a business strategy consultant and has taught executive courses on behavioral economics, negotiations and competitive strategy. Priscila is a fellow of the Yale Center for Customer Insights. She started her financial career working at Credit Suisse in New York and at Morgan Stanley in São Paulo, Brazil.
